SmartPOP2Exchange

This is a software that adds the capability of connecting to SMTP or Exchange mails servers, mail accounts that are based on POP3 & IMAP combination.

SmartPOP2Exchange helps you to connect your existing POP3 and IMAP accounts to a SMTP or Exchange mail server. SmartPOP2Exchange will obtain all the mail from various POP3/IMAP accounts (such as Google and then forward to a SMTP server. There is no specific action required by the user, the program works in the background. The software is also able to read RSS feeds and deliver them to specific mail addresses on the exchange mail network. Common settings like download interval, timeout etc. and to add, delete or configure your SMTP/Exchange and POP3/IMAP accounts are easily done. Remote control from any other PC over a network is also possible with an additional piece of software. The program includes the SpamAssasin to work as the spam filter.

It is trainable and keeps adjusting its detection algorithm based on what you consider spam. The detection rate is very high to start with and then it keeps improving. Known good techniques such as blacklist server requests, Bayes filter, static rules and many more. You have a choice of how the detected messages should be processed such as tag, move, delete, etc. It is possible to set up sophisticated rules for disposal of mail detected as spam. The program also has virus scanners included, the enterprise edition has the well-known ClamAV included in it. Administration becomes fairly simple with additional features such as catch all mail box, backup, scheduler etc. A log file helps pinpoint problems, if any. This thus can be a really useful tool for mail administration where you need to extend your exchange mail system to connect to POP and IMAP mail systems.

Nearly all installed virus scanners can be used by SmartPOP2Exchange in order to identify mails infected by a virus or trojan. The Enterprise Edition already has the popular virus scanner ClamAV integrated.
